Math Scares Me to THIS DAY!

So I went by my local library because it happened to be open and I always seem to find books that I need in my life or the City Paper which always has some juicy stuff in it. I have been so busy lately andI haven't been able to sit my butt down. I can not wait until I can sit down and just read without any interruptions...well until that day, I'll be dibbling and dabbling.

I got out a book called Mathematics Minus Fear and so far so good. It is just explaining my life in school with math to a T. I would be the student to not catch eye contact with the teacher because I definitely didn't know the answer...LOL. I had my best math teachers in life in the 4th and 5th grade and in the 12th grade and after that...that was all she wrote.

I suggest to those that need some guidance or want to relate to a book that eases your fear of math read this book (pictured below).

SunChips 100% Compostable Bag

I went by Target some days ago and bought the new 100% compostable bag that I knew nothing about at first. I soon discovered that this bag can be left out in the dirt and it will start to decompose over a period of time. This does not mean to continue to litter (word to those that already do it) but it will help keep the environment a little less congested with trash.

The only downside of the bag is that is the loudest bag EVER! When I was going to pay for it, it was making the most sounds. When I was at work, my coworkers were talking to each other and the bag was taking over their conversation...LOL! The chips still tasted the same as they did in the old version of the bag. Another good point is that when I opened the bag, I wasn't surprised to see the chips were all the way at the bottom, the bag was FULL! Full chip bags just don't exist these days.

So two thumbs up to SunChips starting a GREEN movement.

The Black Cat = Two thumbs down

I went to a concert on Monday to see Janelle Monae unaware that the doors wouldn't be opening at 7pm but opening at 8pm and that the show was starting at 10pm which didn't start until 10:20pm (highly upset). This place was very unprofessional and I am hoping that no one that I really want to see has a show there because they might have to count me out.

Janelle Monae on the other hand did amazing. She is like the cutest little person ever. I lover her style, her hair, and I swear she has the best set of teeth I have ever seen in my life (you now know how I close I was in the front...LOL). She did a song called Cold War (def added it to the blog playlist) and I mean this song was so tight....we were jammin for the little bit of time that we could stay because they started so dag on late.

Here is my up close and personal pic of her. My camera on my phone does me pretty well when I'm in a well lit area.

Food Review

Ok so I love food and I love to bring lunch...McDonald's is getting old and nasty after watching Fast Food Nation. I try to stay away from pork and beef, but sometimes I do eat it, but to a minimum.

I got these Healthy Choice Steamers for the week and when I say they are the best thing ever created. They are healthy for you as well as the food being very well seasoned. So if your looking for something healthy and good, this is the way to go.

DC Restaurant Week

It's almost over, well on Sunday it is.

I will be going on a date with my chicas to Rosa Mexicano for Restaurant Week. I heard the food is great and the resturant looks really really nice...I CANT WAIT. =) It is located right in the midst of the busy but my favorite place to be, Gallery Place/Chinatown.

My Review:
Ok so we canceled the Thirft Store adventure because we were so tired after eating loads of food from Rosa Mexicano. I didn't get to try the famous guacamole cuz someone was running a lil late, but what I did get was this crispy chicken taco (DELICIOUS), an enchilada in some sauce that was a bit much for me (I had to save half of it cuz I was so full), and dessert was honestly THE BEST PART, I got some kind of cheesecake that was made into a circle with loads of caramel in the middle of it. Sweets are a lot of the time not my favorite, but I would definitely go there just for that cheesecake. =)

Restaurant Review

On Monday, I had the pleasure of eating out with coworkers and a National Sales Rep for a line that we carry in the showroom. Our true Italian told us about a great Italian restaurant called Potenza and when I say the food was great...it was MWAH (kissing my fingers like a true Italian...LOL). I had the best Mascato I have ever had in my life, I was peeping the brand of it so I can make sure that it is purchased in the near future. The prices are pretty reasonable. If you are looking for a nice spot downtown by the White House, check this out! Sidenote: We saw fabric from our showroom on some of the booth chairs in there...we were all very excited. =)

I'm a Sucker for a NICE LIBRARY =P

Ok...so today was the grand opening of the new Takoma Park Library, was I impressed?....YES I WAS.

My checkouts:
Sex and the City Season 1...time to get in the loop from the beginning
The Duchess (I have been wanting to see this movie for a while)
A Book called Audrey Hepburn Treasures...it is quite intriguing
I got out Aaliyah's One in a Million CD...I might actually have it, but I think it is scratched up =(

But I am just excited....and also sidenote: If you ever feel like you need something new, go to a library and checkout something for FREE, it will fill the void =)
